At nearly 1,400 feet tall, the currently-under-construction apartment building on 432 Park Ave. in New York City is pretty darn high. It's also pretty darn expensive, even for New York City standards.
But how tall is 1,400 feet exactly? For starters, it is taller than the Empire State Building, making this apartment the second tallest building in New York City. It's also the third tallest building in all of the United States. In case that wasn't impressive enough, it is also the tallest residential building in all of the Western Hemisphere.
If you want to see for yourself, check out the video tour of the building below from Mashable. Unless you don't like heights. In that case this video probably isn't for you.
The building is currently under construction and is slated to open in the spring of 2015. The height of the building is dizzying to say the least. It is 84 stories tall and sways 4 to 5 feet. The upper levels of the building give a phenomenal view of the city, but that view doesn't come cheap. According to the video, the 84th floor penthouse sold for around $95 million.
It definitely costs a pretty penny to live in one of the tallest buildings in the world, but hey, rich people don't care. That $95 million, 84th floor penthouse is probably just a summer home for whoever bought it. As for the rest of us, we can continue to battle over who deserves the distinction of living in the smallest, crappiest apartment.
