In Pokémon Sun and Moon, players will also have to increase the happiness of certain Pokémon to make them evolve, just like in the other games before.
It's a bit tedious and might take a while to go at it the normal way, which includes giving your Pokémon a Soothe Bell and walking with it, using Berries or vitamins and winning battle after battle without it fainting.
That said, a crafty Redditor who goes by the name of Leafeon111 has posted a trick on how to raise happiness and max out those friendship gauges quickly.
How To Increase Pokémon Happiness The Easy Way
Step 1 : Munchlax
Step 2: Search for two TM items that the Pokémon you chose can both learn.
Step 3: Use up one move slot of that Pokémon and make it learn the TM, regardless of which one of the two you pick.
Step 4: Replace the first learned TM with the other TM.
Step 5: Rinse and repeat for a while until the Pokémon's happiness is way up.
Step 6: Level the Pokémon up, and it should evolve.
Note: For Eevee, it'll become Espeon during the day or Umbreon at night. For Pichu, it'll become Pikachu. For Munchlax, it'll become Snorlax.
To explain why this method works, a Pokémon's happiness increases whenever it learns a TM move, and since TM items no longer expire when used, this trick is one of the most efficient ways to max out your companions' friendship levels.
