HTC launched the Sprint-exclusive HTC Bolt smartphone on Nov. 11, and now the company has announced that the smartphone will be known as the HTC 10 Evo by the rest of the world.
HTC 10 Evo Specs
Apart from the name, all specs of the HTC Bolt and HTC 10 Evo will be identical. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch S-LCD screen with a display resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. The screen of the phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which offers tough protection against drops and knocks. The tougher protection does not affect the clarity or touch sensitivity of the phone screen, though.
HTC's latest Evo has full metal unibody but it is still dust-, water- and splash-resistant. The HTC 10 Evo is IP57 certified, which means customers can take the device for hiking, biking and other outdoor activities without any worries of the effects of harsh climate on the device.
The latest HTC offerings are equipped with a 16-megapixel (F/2.0 lens) rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel (F/2.4 lens) selfie camera. The primary camera has optical image stabilization (OIS), which reduces camera shake and allows users to shoot sharp photos even in low light conditions.
The HTC 10 Evo runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 2.0 GHz and 3 GB of RAM. The handset includes 32 GB of internal memory, which can be extended to an additional 2 TB with a microSD card.
A 3,200 mAh battery fuels the HTC 10 Evo, offering enough power for a day's use.
"If you need to recharge quickly, HTC 10 Evo features Quick Charge technology, so you can charge your phone fast. Super handy when heading out on a last minute adventure," says HTC.
Security has become a major concern for mobile phone owners, and fingerprint scanners have become a norm in most of the top-end smartphones launched in 2016. The HTC 10 Evo comes with a fingerprint sensor on the home button for enhanced security. HTC claims that the Evo's fingerprint sensor can unlock the device within 0.2 seconds.
The HTC 10 Evo is one of the few devices that run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system straight out of the box. It is worth noting that Android 7.0 Nougat brings a number of new features such as multiscreen mode, improved battery management and more, which enhance the overall usage experience of the device.
HTC 10 Evo Price
HTC has not confirmed the price of the HTC 10 Evo but in the U.S., the Sprint-exclusive HTC Bolt is available at a full retail price of $600.
