Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo with 48-hour battery life leaked images confirm specs, Quad HD display ahead of release

Motorola and Verizon are expected to officially unveil the Droid Turbo on Oct. 28. New images of the smartphone have leaked and show off its ultrasharp 5.2-inch Quad HD display and Kevlar case.

Motorola has been very active with introducing new smartphones like the Moto X and Moto G (second edition) and its first Android Wear-based smart watch, Moto 360.

The company most recently partnered with its previous owner, Google, on its upcoming Nexus 6 phablet, which will be the first smartphone to ship with Google's latest and greatest version of Android, Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Google isn't the only company Motorola is working with on a device that's sure to impress smartphone fans and regular consumers. We've been reporting on the Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo and back in early September, we got our first look at the Droid Turbo's rear case. The unannounced smartphone was spotted on the popular benchmarking site GFXBench and its results confirmed that it was going to be a powerful smartphone with top-of-the-line specs.

Verizon is long overdue in updating its popular Droid series. The company recently tweeted an image of the Droid Turbo ahead of its unveiling and also "accidentally" posted the smartphones User's manual. Now Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo images have leaked again within days of its Oct. 28 unveiling.

The leaked images provide a look at its ultrasharp 2560 x 1440 Quad HD display, confirmation that it will pack in a very healthy 3 GB of RAM which, coupled with its Snapdragon 805 chip, will be able to handle whatever users throw at it.

The Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo features a 5.2-inch Quad HD IPS (in-plane switching) Moto display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and a pixel density of 565 pixels per inch. It will be powered by a 2.65 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, Adreno 420 GPU (graphics processing unit), and 3 GB of RAM. The handset includes 32 GB of internal storage and will ship with Android 4.4.4 and will likely see an Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade in the very near future.

The Droid Turbo's camera capabilities consist of a 21-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, ability to record 2160p video, and front-facing camera for video chat and selfies. It will pack in a large 3900 mAh nonremovable battery that will offer a very impressive 48 hours per charge; the smartphone will also have support for Motorola's Turbo charger accessory that promises to turbo-charge its battery and provide up to 8 hours of use on a 15-minute charge.

We'll update you on any new Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo news as it becomes available.
