OnePlus 3T Release Date Rumor: Improved Flagship Killer To Launch On Nov. 14

The rumored OnePlus 3T is suddenly looming very real in the horizon as recent reports are now saying that it could possibly launch on Nov. 14.

It is difficult to exactly pinpoint the original source for the leaked OnePlus 3T launch schedule but most reports cite China-based news outfits. Unfortunately, this is the only new information to have surfaced about the device recently, which should be frustrating and exciting at the same time for OnePlus fans. One should note that the device has been floating about online for months now.

What this means is that we are only left with rumors that have been previously leaked so far. Chief among these involves the price tag. OnePlus 3T will reportedly retail for $479, that is $80 more expensive than OnePlus 3. The jacked up cost can be attributed to its improved specs.

Instead of the Snapdragon 820 found in the OnePlus 3, the OnePlus 3T will purportedly run on the latest Snapdragon 821. This factor will effectively make the 3T one of the few challengers to the Google Pixel to date. Once released, it will be also competing with few flagships running the same chipset such as the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe.

Aside from the processor, we also know that the 3T will most likely have a 5.5-inch screen real estate. It is not yet clear at this point if the display technology will be Optic AMOLED since there are claims that it could also be an LCD display.

Consumers should expect the 3T to have a 16-megapixel main camera module (possibly with a Sony IMX398 sensor), 64 GB of storage and an impressive 6 GB of RAM. It could also run the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. On the other hand, the hardware design is widely believed to be mostly similar to the all-metal aesthetics of the OnePlus 3.

Clearly, the 3T will only ship with minor improvements in comparison to its predecessor. This can be attributed to the fact that OnePlus 4 is expected to get a mid-2017 release. The 3T's November rollout, therefore, can be interpreted merely as a move to fill the period between today and that 2017 launch.

Overall, the owners of OnePlus 3 are not expected to pounce on the 3T upon its release. Its maker might be gunning for holdouts who could be tempted to purchase recently released flagships such as the Google Pixel. Those who have older OnePlus devices and are fans of the brand should be able to find plenty of reasons to love the OnePlus 3T.
