AT&T Announces LG V20 Now Available To Buy In Retail Stores

LG announced its latest flagship phablet, the LG V20, in September, and it is now making its debut on all U.S. carriers. AT&T has announced that the LG V20 is now available for purchase in its retail stores and online.

Unlike previous major Android releases, Google allowed LG to announce that its flagship LG V20 would be the first smartphone to ship with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Now that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has been officially cancelled, the LG V20 looks to be a worthy Galaxy Note 7 alternative. The device features a similar 5.7-inch Quad HD display, premium glass and metal build and is one of the only smartphones that includes a user swappable battery.

All four major U.S. carriers are offering the LG V20 in its smartphone lineup, and we recently reported that T-Mobile is offering free extras for customers who preordered the device. AT&T has just announced on Twitter that customers can now purchase the LG V20 in its retail stores. Like T-Mobile, AT&T is offering a discount when trading in a smartphone and free H3 by B&O Play headphones.

The LG V20 comes equipped with a spacious 5.7-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 and a pixel density of 513 pixels per inch (ppi), and one of its main features is a 2.1-inch secondary display above the main screen that can be used to access apps, toggle quick settings and view notifications. The handset runs Android 7.0 Nougat and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU (graphics processing unit) and 4 GB of RAM. It includes 64 GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that supports up to 2 TB.

The LG V20 boasts a dual rear camera system that features 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel cameras, and it sports a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies and video chat. The smartphone can capture Ultra HD video at 30 fps, multi-view recording, time-lapse and slow-motion video and uses a Hi-Fi Quad DAC (digital to analog converter) for higher quality audio. LG includes a removable 3,200 mAh battery that will provide up to 23 hours of talk time and up to 18.5 days of standby time.

AT&T customers interested in purchasing the LG V20 can also order the phablet from the carrier's online store in choice of Silver or Titan Gray. The LG V20 is priced at $27.67 per month for 30 months or customers can pay $829.99 full price and the carrier currently lists a ship date of Oct. 27 - Oct. 31.
