Georgia Woman Rushes To Hospital For Kidney Stones, Goes Home With A Baby

A woman went to the hospital believing she had a kidney stone and ended up giving birth. The doctors reported that she had been pregnant for 38 weeks, and she just entered labor.

The couple's baby was delivered at approximately 4 a.m. at Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, Georgia.

"There are no words to describe the range of feelings associated with being told that you're having a baby - in 30 minutes," declared the woman. "The doctors were discussing kidney stones and pain and said order a CT scan. But then he examined my stomach when I was having 'cramps' and changed his mind and did an ultrasound instead."

Addressing the question on everyone's minds, Michael Jaegers, Stephanie's husband posted an explanation of the unexpected pregnancy on Facebook.

"Steph was diagnosed with pre-menopause awhile back which would justify the hormone imbalance also associated with a pregnancy. Shaun was also breech throughout the entire pregnancy which prevented him from moving around to indicate to Steph that he was in there and his position made it to where Steph didn't 'show'. The most bizarre part is she continued to have a menstrual cycle, which the hospital tells us is rare, but can happen," clarified the man.

Michael Jaegers also thanked everyone who stood by their side through time, especially since they've got two other kids to take care of at home, 11 and 16.

"I cried and I was scared. We didn't know what to do. We had started getting rid of our baby stuff. Luckily we had a car seat in the attic. I don't know that it actually registered until he was here," explained Steph, who also mentioned that she had no morning sickness or other symptoms of being pregnant throughout the eight months.

The child was born seven pounds and three ounces on Wednesday, and he was positioned behind a few ribs, which explained the woman's lack of any notice of the pregnancy. Stephanie accused mood swings, but she had believed it was all because of the pre-menopause.

Needless to say, it wasn't just the couple and the entire world that were surprised, but their family as well. However, just like the woman, they believe that everything is meant to be, which made them all really supportive of the situation.

The news of the couple's situation got all over the world very quickly, which resulted in hundreds, if not thousands, of likes, shares and comments on social media.

The situation in the Jaegers family raised media's attention, and the couple has become famous over night.

"TD Lakes Show wants to fly us out to LA to be on their show. This is very surreal. Shaun is too young to travel, I'm working and Steph doesn't want to travel alone and leave Shaun. They are trying to set up a Skype call for Wednesday at 12:30PM. Crazy stuff," Michael Jaegers posted on his Facebook page.

However unexpected, the family journey is supported by thousand of people worldwide.
