World’s most high-tech lounge chair cools you and turns automatically, but will set you back $45,000

Finnish manufacturer Remmus just announced the world's highest technology lounge chair. The sunlounger will cool you, turns automatically to face the sun, and has a built-in sound system and phone charger among other amenities, but carries a hefty price tag of around $45,000.

We all know the extreme sadness and frustration associated with using a regular old "low-tech" lounge chair for catching those precious rays. Every hour or two, one has to actually get up off their own behind and turn the chair to match the new angle of the sun to brown themselves evenly. A cooler with drinks must be lugged along to quench the seemingly never-ending thirst the hot sun produces. Sunbathers also need to bring along headphones to listen to their music collection while working on their tan, and if their smartphone's battery runs out in the process, well, they're out of luck. Worst of all, when one gets overheated, they actually have to pick themselves up and hopefully jump in a pool, sea, or ocean, if there is one nearby.

Fortunately, Remmus' designers have come up with the answer to these decidedly first-world "problems." With the Remmus sunlounger, one can literally stay on their lounge chair without moving for the entire day -- and even night, thanks to the built-in LED lighting that automatically comes on at sunset. More remarkably, the chair itself rotates automatically throughout the day to give the perfect angle for that all-over, even suntan.

And forget having to cool off with a swim. The Remmus sunlounger has cooling water misters which spray your body down as it comfortably remains on the apparatus' water- and UV-resistant, breathable padding, with adjustable powered backrest. Forget the headphones, as the built-in waterproof Bose stereo system will play your favorite tunes all day while your smartphone is plugged in to the built-in charger. The lounger itself can either plug into a nearby outlet or, if one is not available, run on its own battery power.

As far as drinks and snacks, the Remmus has them covered as well. In addition to a built-in cooler, the device has a dedicated "waiter button" that the user can push to summon their server to bring them anything they want, although the server is not included.

Actually, the device is targeted at yachts and high-end resorts that provide staff for this sort of thing. Between the features of the lounger, and the faithful servants it helps call, you can remain on the device all day and well into night without moving a muscle. Just be responsible and put on some sunscreen. Hopefully, Remmus designers will tackle that issue in the upgraded Remmus sunlounger 2.0.
