If you are partial to smartphones from Taiwan-based OEM Asus, then you have two new Android-powered models that you can choose from — the ZenFone 3 Deluxe and the ZenFone 3 Laser.
The two smartphones were announced by Asus in May this year as part of its ZenFone 3 lineup, which also include the ZenFone 3 Max, Zenfone 3 and ZenFone 3 Ultra.
While the company did not disclose an official release date at the time for the ZenFone 3 Deluxe and the ZenFone 3 Laser, the two handsets are now available for purchase in the U.S., thanks to Amazon.
Consumers in the U.S. can now order any of the two smartphones from the e-retailer, which will come with a one-year warranty. However, the only caveat is that the smartphones will take between two and five weeks to ship to the buyer. That's right, if you order the ZenFone 3 Deluxe or the ZenFone 3 Laser from Amazon now, you have a long wait ahead.
For those who are willing to exercise some patience and wait this long, then you can snag the 64 GB unlocked variant of the ZenFone 3 Deluxe in Glacier Silver for $530.48. Amazon is also throwing in free shipping along with the year-long warranty.
The ZenFone 3 Laser is cheaper of the two and will set you back by $206.95 for the 32 GB unlocked model in Glacier Silver. Amazon offers free shipping on the handset.
To refresh your memory, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe sports a 5.7-inch 1080p AMOLED screen. It is unclear whether the model sold on Amazon will house the Snapdragon 821 or Snapdragon 820 processor, as the listing mentions both the CPUs. It is likely that this model is the Snapdragon 820 one because the Snapdragon 821 version has 256 GB not 64 GB of onboard storage.
The handset also houses 6 GB of RAM, a stellar 23-megapixel primary camera with 4K video recording. It also touts an 8-megapixel selfie snapper.
The ZenFone 3 Laser, on the other hand, sports a smaller 5.5.-inch 1080p IPS screen. Under the hood, it houses a Snapdragon 430 processor and 2 GB of RAM. It also packs in a 13-megapixel primary camera and 8-megapixel selfie shooter.
Both the phablets have a fingerprint scanner, are dual-SIM supported and come with Android Marshmallow out of the box. The metal-bodied handsets also have expandable memory.
Since the ZenFone 3 Laser and the ZenFone 3 Deluxe are both unlocked, they should be compatible with GSM carriers such as T-Mobile and AT&T. However, they will not work with CDMA supported carriers such as Sprint and Verizon wireless.
