We've been hearing a lot about the remastered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that is bundled with Call of Duty: Infinity Warfare. We haven't seen much of the game in action, but we did get to see an interesting comparison that is bound to have folks thinking.
A new video released recently shows the original PC version of the game versus the remastered version. The original PC version is maxed out when it comes down to graphic settings to bring it up to speed with the newer version of the game.
The question is, after viewing the video, which one is better than the other in terms of graphics?
We can see that several changes were made in the remastered. Textures have been improved in some areas, making them slightly better than what the original PC version has to offer. Interestingly enough, these improvements only seem to be better while indoors.
On the outside, the original PC version just clicks. We see much better foliage, better graphics on the buildings, and even the vehicles look better. One particular building shows several damaged areas and bullet holes, while on the remaster, these things are missing.
When it comes down to animation, the movements of the characters are still the same. It makes us wonder if the remaster is actually worth having, but then again, it's the only Call of Duty this year with boots squarely on the ground, and that is what the old school fans seek to play.
Granted, this comparison video only showed off the multiplayer maps, and we know that multiplayer usually looks less impressive when compared to single player.
Chances are the single player campaign will show the work Activision put into making this remaster possible. We were impressed by the first reveal during the Call of Duty: Infinity Warfare trailer. The graphics looked great, and had us more excited for the old game than for the newer one.
Sadly, this comparison did not increase our excitement, so we definitely want to see more of the campaign. Then again, the multiplayer is the best aspect of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, so if it fails to impress, then the whole game might turn out to be a failure.
At the end of the day, if the game fails to impress, it will achieve the main goal Activision has in mind. And that is to push more copies of Call of Duty: Infinity Warfare into more homes.
