Titanfall 2 is about more: more weapons ... more abilities ... more content ... and of course, more Titans.
Players recently got their hands on two Titans, Scorch and Ion, in the game's multiplayer technical test, but now, Respawn Entertainment is providing details on all six of the game's Titan companions via the Titanfall 2 website and a new trailer.
Legion is one of those new Titans. This hulking Titan excels at defending objectives and controlling areas of the map with a powerful minigun, the ability to switch between close-range and long-range rounds and protective shields. Legion's Titan core ability is Smartcore, which allows Legion's primary weapon to lock on to any target in range. Think Soldier 76's ultimate from Overwatch, and you have an idea of what to expect.
Next up is Ronin. Previously teased, this fast-moving Titan wields a sword, as well as a close-range shotgun. Ronin can teleport short distances and block damage with its sword, but when it comes time to deal a ton of damage fast, its Sword Core ability empowers its melee attacks and gives access to new sword abilities.
There's also Tone, an offensive Titan that comes equipped with a number of lock-on missile abilities and a defensive particle wall. Tone also has a sonar ability that can reveal nearby enemies.
Of all of Titanfall 2's Titans, Northstar may be the most unique. This fragile and quick-moving Titan sports the ability to hover and plant mines, and its Titan core ability unleashes a deadly barrage of missiles while keeping the Titan airborne.
Scorch and Ion, as previously mentioned, were both included in the game's multiplayer test, so fans should have a good idea of their capabilities. Scorch is an expert at controlling objectives with its fire traps and ground pound attacks. Ion, on the other hand, is all about managing energy resources between its various weapon systems, which include a massive chest-fired laser.
Each Titan sports a unique set of weapons and abilities, giving players plenty of choice when it comes to deciding which one they want to bring into battle. Each Titan can also be upgraded and customized in a number of ways. Titanfall 2 is looking and playing great so far, even if there are a few changes being made that may annoy fans of how the original game played.
Titanfall 2 releases on Oct. 28 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
