OnePlus One announces that its users can now take advantage of the handset's Cyanogenmod (CM) 11S 38R update. This would include enhanced touchscreen responsiveness and a new lockscreen. It also has some newly added support features, such as capturing RAW format images and audio in 24 bit, 96/192khz - flac/alac/wav.
The improved touchscreen is so far the most important bug fix update of the device. The new touchscreen driver, which came from Synaptics and is now almost a month old, solves the multi-touch issues that users have reported about the phone. It brings with it the familiar touchscreen experience that one gets from the currently featured devices in the market.
The OnePlus One's camera also gets a number of new capabilities. One of these is the pause button during videos, which allows the user to make quick cuts when recording. It also offers RAW image support, which is good for those who are keen on using various types of image editing software prior to processing the image. It is one of the highlighted features of the anticipated Android L.
Another huge jump for the phone is the higher quality audio feature, which supports files without any type of resampling. Moreover, users can enjoy the device's added ANT+ support and access to a wide range of connected fitness devices.
The device's touchscreen feature is now packed with improved responsiveness, a sign of relief for those who have been complaining of some issues. OnePlus One rolled out a CM 11S 33R update in August for the touch unresponsiveness although the issue was fixed only partially.
Apart from the newly added pause button that was mentioned earlier, users can also report bugs directly to Cyanogen. Since the phone appears to be more power-packed than before, it's only natural that the company also considered improving the device's battery life.
There are several other issues that have been fixed together with the update. These issues would deal with the low volume of Bluetooth when connected, the inability of the camera to start working even when the LED torch is already on, the battery drain brought on by Quiet Hours/system UI, the inability to trigger rotation when rotated slowly, the static in the speaker while one is changing volume and a headset is plugged in, the delay in torch activation, the inability to connect the "4G Preferred" option to 3G data, and camera exposure compensation that is stuck in "auto."
OnePlus One owners can receive an OTA notification soon but only through invitation. Users would have to be on CM 11S Build 33 R for them to get the latest update.
