Taiwanese actor and singer Jimmy Lin was photographed using an iPhone 6 in 2014 before the handset was announced by Apple. He was just spotted with an iPhone 7 Plus in his hand.
Unveiling a new smartphone has become a painstaking process of secrecy between the handset maker and the company it hires to manufacture the device. It has also become a serious business for websites to show the world a new device long before the company ever intended.
The most recent high-profile smartphone to be unmasked ahead of an official launch was the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. In late June, a third-party case maker revealed what its cases looked like on the unannounced Galaxy Note 7, which confirmed the device would feature a dual curved edge display and iris scanner.
In July, the Galaxy Note 7 was demonstrated on video, and the world got to see how its iris scanner worked and got a sneak-peek at Samsung's updated version of its TouchWiz Grace user interface.
Apple is the latest high-profile smartphone maker to have its next-generation iPhone 7 Plus shown to the world well in advance of its expected Sept. 7 launch event.
Taiwanese actor and singer Jimmy Lin has once again been caught on camera using an iPhone that Apple hasn't yet announced. The tipster has a proven track record of getting spotted with new iPhones. He showed the world Apple's first four-inch iPhone in 2012 when he was photographed with an iPhone 5, and in 2014, the same source was snapped holding an iPhone 6 well before Tim Cook unveiled the device.
As you can see in the image above, Jimmy Lin has once again been photographed using an unannounced iPhone. If you've been following recent iPhone leaks, you'll recognize the handset as none other than the dual-lens iPhone 7 Plus.
Although it's hard to make out, the iPhone 7 Plus in the hands of Jimmy Lin is said to be the Rose Gold color option. Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in at least one new color, and images have already leaked showing a Deep Blue iPhone 7 and Space Black iPhone 7 Plus.
With Apple's Sept. 7 event only a few weeks away, the company is expected to send out invites to announce its new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in the very near future.
We'll keep you posted on any additional iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus details as they become available.
