If there ever was a panic button for smartphones, LG G5 owners would have pressed theirs multiple times already.
Complaints from customers who purchased the flagship model are pouring in on Reddit, as the device seems to be ridden with technical issues.
A lot of LG G5 owners mention that GPS failures are commonplace, others report that the speakers are dying out, some say that their power buttons no longer function, while a few complain about noticing gaps in the chassis. Some owners of the smartphone had to replace LG's modules, such as the Cam Plus. Although no issue appears to be prevalent, problems with the handset keep sprouting every day.
A small consolation comes from the fact that the customer care service of LG is doing its job as angry customers are phoning in with complaints. Replacements take a short amount of time, and the Reddit thread presents cases of people who have exchanged as many as three to six smartphones in the warranty and repair process.
Redditor Bloodyfinger is a powerful example.
"I'm now on my fourth cam plus module and my third G5," Bloodyfinger says.
The redditor adds that the first three camera modules did not even function, which we can assume really tests one's patience. However, he does commend LG for fixing his issues on the spot, at no extra cost. As you would expect, he swears that this is the last phone he intends to buy from LG.
Another redditor has shared his experience of going through technical problems with his LG G5, and notes that he is on his sixth device. According to his post, he faced the following issues: the power button broke, the handset bootlooped 12 hours after opening it up for the first time, a speaker was defective, the power button failed again and last but not least, he noticed a "massive gap between the chin and the body."
This seems to indicate that a big number of LG G5 units did not exit the factory in tip-top shape, which makes one wonder if it's quality control's fault or if there is another explanation.
Problems have been plaguing LG G5 devices for some time now. A number of technical mishaps were so frequent, in fact, that we compiled a list of common issues to make users' life easier. Battery drainage, connectivity issues and notification problems are just a few of them, so if you own a troublesome LG G5, you might want to check it out.
