Users love Flipagram for the app's ability to allow them to create fun photo and video stories. While one of the the app's best features is letting users add music to their videos for free, finding the best new song to add into the video is about to get smarter and easier.
Flipagram announced on Wednesday, Aug. 10 its partnership with SoundHound that now will help enhance the music feature on its app.
The major takeaway from this new partnership is the cross-platform integration. Flipagram is tapping into SoundHound's sound search and music recognition technologies to allow users to explore the app's artist, album and song database. This enables the user to know all about a particular song they might want to include in their video, as well as get access to SoundHound's complete library of music to add to their clips.
"Flipagram is thrilled to be working with SoundHound, the most innovative source for music search and discovery, as our first music integration partner," Farhad Mohit, co-founder and CEO of Flipagram, said in a press release. "Through major distribution and content relationships with platforms like SoundHound, Flipagram continues to pioneer new social use cases for music and video."
It will also be easier for Flipagram users to decide on what music to add because SoundHound is bringing its custom music data to the platform by letting people know what are the trending tracks each week. Users can then add the hottest SoundHound tracks to their own videos directly on the Flipagram platform.
SoundHound will now include a "Create Music Video" button within its song pages, which will allow users to create a music video by redirecting to Flipagram after discovering that perfect song in the music recognition mobile app.
"We are very pleased to be collaborating with Flipagram, one of the industry's pioneers in mobile music, video and social distribution," said Keyvan Mohajer, SoundHound founder and CEO. "The combination of SoundHound's iconic music recognition, our Sing/Hum technology and our 'OK Hound' natural language search feature delivers on music search, discovery and play, and now we're enabling new and joyful ways to create Flipagram music videos."
Flipagram's partnership with SoundHound is just the beginning. The company has plans to team up with other companies to continue to strengthen its app.
Both apps are available to download for iOS and Android.
