Own an iPad Pro but not the keyboard being sold by Apple owing to its steep pricing? You're in luck as the 9.7-inch tablet has a new keyboard alternative courtesy of Logitech, which will not burn a hole in your wallet!
On Tuesday, Aug. 2, Logitech took the wraps off the 9.7-inch variant of its CREATE Backlit Keyboard Case. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro already has a CREATE Backlit Keyboard Case from the company.
Like the bigger version, the CREATE keyboard for the smaller iPad Pro also offers a folio-type tablet protection, support for the magnetic three-dot Smart Connector and a full-size keyboard which is backlit.
"CREATE is like the Swiss Army Knife of keyboard cases. It puts all the tools you need at your fingertips, and the keyboard charges through the Smart Connector so you can just set your iPad Pro into a typing position and go. It brings typing on the iPad Pro to a whole new level," noted Logitech's Michele Hermann, VP of tablet accessories.
The keyboard does not require to be charged as well as connect to the iPad Pro through Bluetooth as it is powered by the tablet itself and the CREATE keyboard from Logitech pairs easily with the iPad Pro when one put it in the typing position. Moreover, it powers on automatically.
The design of the backlit keyboard is meant to work seamlessly with the Smart Connector. Logitech has made the keyboard easy to use and included a row of iOS shortcuts so that users literally have commands on the tips of their fingers, negating the need to take them off the keyboard.
To illustrate our point, one can access the iPad Pro's screen adjust the volume or control the playback of a video, even perform a search or browse the web with a single tap on the keyboard!
"Edge-to-edge layout of well-spaced keys ensures familiar laptop-like typing. Mechanical scissor keys are tuned for productivity with 1.4 mm key travel - an optimal depth for comfortable and responsive typing," touts Logitech.
Apple Pencil users need not fret as the keyboard has an integrated holder for the accessory that keeps the stylus within reach. The keyboard is also reasonably light — it weighs 426gms. However, some people may feel that it adds some bulk to the otherwise svelte iPad Pro.
The CREATE Keyboard Case is available in two hues for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro — black and blue. It is priced at $129.99 and can be purchased online from Logitech's website.
