Popular commenting platform Livefyre said it has acquired social and analytics services provider Realtidbits. The move is aimed at boosting Livefyre's analytics offering to its customers,
This is Livefyre's second acquisition this year. A couple of months ago the company purchased social curation startup Storify which it plans to let it continue as a standalone product.
"We're in a pretty acquisitive place right now," said Livefyre founder and CEO Jordan Kretchmer. "We want to expand our product reach, and we're actively exploring anyting delivering on our premise of social everywhere."
Livefyre is startup that is best known for its evolutionary commenting system that integrates social media in the comments. Along with this, the startup also provides social products which has features like the ability to integrate contents from different social media and run ads simultaneously.
With San Diego-based analytics startup Realtidbits's acquisition, Livefyre CEO said that the five-member team of Realtidbits will become the core of Livefyre's analytics team. As a part of the deal, users of Realtidbits will be migrated seamlessly over to Livefyre platforms within the next few months.
Analysts say the acquisition will help Livefyre keep pace with its rivals, which include Echo, Chute, Disqus, and Mass Relevance.
