PS4 Gamers Report 'Overwatch' Progress Loss: Still No Fix From Blizzard

PS4 players of Overwatch have been reporting a glitch that caused them to lose their progress — from their skins and competitive rank to their level — for nearly a week now, and Blizzard has yet to fix the issue.

According to a Reddit user who goes by the name of Majorasblaze, he finds it disheartening how the gaming company doesn't pay enough attention to his and a lot of other gamers' woes in one of the most successful shooters to hit the gaming scene this year.

"I haven't felt able to play Overwatch since the weekend because everything I did in the game since competitive launched has been wiped (level, rank, drops) and it's been hard work to find any information about what's going on," he says.

Another Reddit user, Zeet19, reported that his level went back to square one from level 21 or 22, but he did mention that his stats and skins remained intact and that he had 16 Loot Boxes, which he assumes to be the ones he purchased.

"I logged in on my PS4 to play Overwatch after watching a movie on Netflix and my account was back to level 1," he writes.

As anticipated, the news of the progress loss seeped out of the massive community-based website and reached the Battle.net forums.

"I logged into the game this morning to discover all my progress level wise was gone and 22 Loot Boxes in my inventory although I never purchased them. Strangely I still have the plaque of a level 38 but I'm currently level 1. All my skins, sprays, poses etc. are still there but all my progress is gone. Please help," user Trevenen says.

Based on that, the unexplained appearance of Loot Boxes doesn't seem to depend on whether the player bought them or not, as the Battle.net user more or less contradicts what Zeet19 said.

Of course, these are not all the reports concerning the problem, and to list them all down would take forever. At any rate, they vary greatly, with some saying that all their progress and skins — even the legendary ones — all disappeared.

For the record, Blizzard is already aware of the issue, and it has responded to the matter at hand when players started to report the problem roughly a week ago.
