'Mobius Final Fantasy' Hitting Android, iOS On Aug. 3: Pre-Register Now For Awesome Prizes

It's a good day for smartphone gamers everywhere, as Mobius Final Fantasy is heading west and landing on Android and iOS devices next month.

At first glance, this mobile RPG seems to be on the same level of quality as a Final Fantasy console title, from the stunning graphics and story-driven gameplay to the action-packed battles and Moogles. It also features the classic classes, including but not limited to Knight, Ranger, Thief, White Mage and Black Mage.

The storyline is original too, and the person behind it is none other than Kazushige Nojima, who is best known for popular games such as Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy X and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, to name a few.

On top of that, Yoshinori Kitase led the development of the RPG, and for those who don't know him, he directed a lot of famous titles for Square Enix, including Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy VII, Chrono Trigger and many others.

With the two involved in the game, it's a pretty safe bet to assume that Mobius Final Fantasy won't disappoint fans, even the non-hardcore ones.

It's expected to roll out on Aug. 3 for both Android and iOS, but anyone can already pre-register for it at the official website. Of course, there are a lot of extra stuff in store for those who sign up early, but what exactly those goodies are depend on how many get in on the action.

Here's a quick breakdown of what's to come:

• 1 Phoenix Down: Free at launch

• 1 Elixir: 5,000 players

• 1 Crystal: 10,000 players

• 6 Ability Tickets: 15,000 players

• 1 Summon Ticket: 20,000 players

• Brotherhood: 30,000 players

• Yuna Card: 50,000 players

In other words, Square Enix wants everyone to tell their friends and family to jump on the bandwagon, and at the time of this writing, 24,051 players already signed up. Also, yes, that there is Tidus' Brotherhood sword.

For the record, Mobius Final Fantasy is going to be free to play with in-app purchases. As usual, here's hoping that success in the game won't be heavily reliant on how much moolah players fork over.

With all said and done, hit up the announcement trailer below to get a closer look at what's hitting the mobile-gaming scene in the West next month.
