Pokémon GO, now available for iOS and Android devices, is being played by millions of fans around the world. In fact, it seems like it is the only thing the internet has been talking about for the last four days.
With so many players swarming developer Niantic's servers, perhaps it's not surprising that the game continues to experience a number of issues.
Not to worry, though. Niantic is more than well aware of all the various problems some Pokémon GO players are experiencing, and they've outlined all known issues and potential fixes for said issues over on the official Pokémon GO website.
Some players who are spending cold, hard cash on the game in order to buy items, are having trouble finding said coins or items in their account. Niantic recommends signing out of the game and then signing back in to see if that fixes the issue. If not, Niantic recommends restarting your phone. Players on Android receiving a "you already own this item" error message also need to restart their device in order to fix the problem.
When it comes to signing out, players should be sure to sign in using the same account each time. Upon booting up the game, Pokémon GO gives players two options for signing in: one with Google, and the other using a Pokémon trainer club account. Each method for sign-in creates a different account, so be sure to log in using the same method each time to avoid losing progress.
Much has been said about Pokémon GO's knack for quickly draining battery life, a bit of an issue when the game requires players to travel around town without a charger while looking for Pokémon. Niantic doesn't have a fix right now but says it is working on a solution. In the meantime, players should turn on battery-saving mode through Pokémon GO's settings.
Players that find Pokémon GO's GPS tracking functionality not working as intended can do a number of things to improve GPS accuracy. Niantic recommends having Pokémon GO location permissions enabled, device location/GPS enabled, location/GPS set to high-accuracy mode and having a 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi internet connection, for best results.
In addition to all these issues, the Pokémon GO servers continue to be sporadic, at best. While Niantic makes no mention of upcoming improvements to the game's servers, fans can only hope the team is working hard to improve the overall experience soon.
