The Elder Scrolls VI may not be coming anytime soon but fans of the series still have something to look forward to in the form of The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition.
According to an announcement from Bethesda, The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition will give players not only access to the base game but also four major DLC expansion packs and updates to the multiplayer online RPG, like a Palomino horse mount.
New to the game? Newcomers will also get 500 crowns to spend in the game's Crown Store when they gear up with The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition.
The DLC game packs included in the Gold Edition are: Imperial City, Orsinium, Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood. With these, players can head for Wrothgar to help the Orc King Kurog rebuild Orsinium, master the art of thievery with the Thieves Guild or become the Dark Brotherhood's pride as a deadly assassin in the Gold Coast, exploring the vastness of Tamriel in just one package.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition is now available for preorder from selected retailers for $59.99.
The Elder Scrolls Online is also due for its 11th update in August. The update will come in two parts: the DLC game pack and the patch for the base game.
Called Shadows of the Hist, the DLC game pack will bring two all-new Argonian-themed four-player dungeons (Ruins of Mazzatun and Cradle of Shadows), while the base game patch will make it possible for players to change their race, appearance and name, and introduce a wide array of new adornments and hairstyles. Those playing on consoles will also be given the option to use text, alongside voice chat, to communicate with each other.
Additionally, Cyrodiil will have capturable towns starting with Update 11! This means Bruma, Vlastarus and Cropsford will be available for the taking, each with three flags of varying degrees of defense to be captured and controlled. When a town is captured, an Alliance will be granted another area to respawn after a PvP death, as well as access to merchants in town selling purple-quality gear in exchange for Alliance Points.
Update 11 will first launch for Mac and PC on Aug. 1. Patches for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will follow on Aug. 16.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition, on the other hand, will be available starting Sept. 9.
