Steam Users Breach Level 1000, Own Over Half Of Library Games Each

Steam user PalmDesert has been enjoying the distinction of having the highest level in the community for some time and now he's pushed things even further to become the first to break through level 1,000.

A 35-year-old male from Japan, PalmDesert has 5,029 games to his name, with 3,372 DLCs owned and 53 reviews made. According to his profile, he mainly games between the hours of 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. (Tokyo time) and doesn't mind not knowing English very well.

PalmDesert has also perfected 57 of the games he has and has an average game completion rate of 39 percent. All that game time has resulted in 8,233 achievements being recorded!

Over the years, the Steam user has also amassed quite a collection of items, giving him more than enough to offer in trades. So far, he's made 5,540 trades and a whopping 519,438 market transactions. It also appears that one of his most favorite games is Rocksmith 2014, which he has spent more than 569 hours on.

Hot on PalmDesert's tail is user StrikeR, also known as Eric Yau from Great Britain. StrikeR is now at level 1,013 and like PalmDesert owns more than 5,000 games on Steam (5,857 to be exact!)

StrikeR may have more games in his own library but PalmDesert has him beat with number of items owned, trades made and market transactions accomplished, as well as the number of achievements, perfected games and average game completion rate.

In comparison, StrikeR has 4,342 achievements, 13 perfected games and an average game completion rate of 13 percent. Still, Alienware and Razer don't seem to mind as they are powering the user's gaming efforts.

To raise their Steam level, a user can buy games, participate in events and craft Steam badges by trading cards. Users can also buy cards in bundles to create more badges and help them breeze through more than 15 levels in just one day. Aside from bragging rights, a higher Steam level also offers other benefits, like having more friend slots and showcasing a number of things on their profiles.

Given that, and with three years of being on top, it can be expected that PalmDesert's profile won't be decked out.
