Fans have been waiting for what seems like an eternity for the second season of the Attack on Titan anime. Although it's not here yet, players can at least refresh their memories by playing through the events of season one in Koei Tecmo's upcoming Attack on Titan game.
All the trailers for the game so far show a title that looks to be incredibly faithful to the anime series, and this new E3 2016 trailer is no different. This particular trailer is focused less on gameplay and more on showing off the game's accurate animae cinematics. Each character looks and sounds just like they do in the hit series. The game will be released in the west with Japanese audio and English subtitles, and will focus primarily on the Battle of Trost storyline.
Previous trailers for the game have highlighted some of the gameplay techniques that players will need to implement in order to survive against the terrifying Titans. Just like in the show, players will be able to freely zip around buildings using the 3D-maneuvering gear, allowing players to easily maneuver around Titans and attack the napes of their necks. Players can also wound Titans to make killing them easier by slicing off various limbs. Commands can be issued to NPC characters to aid the player in battle, and players can even upgrade their weapons and talk to NPCs in town when a mission isn't underway.
It all looks promising, and thankfully, fans won't have to wait too long to play the game for themselves. Attack on Titan releases for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PS Vita and PC on Aug. 30. Those who preorder the game through Amazon, Best Buy or GameStop will receive additional costumes for characters Eren, Levi and Mikasa. The preorder DLC puts Eren and Levi in cleaning outfits, while Mikasa receives a festival costume that has the fearsome fighter wearing a dress and hat.
