There’s no getting over Star Wars: The Force Awakens, especially when the movie is getting the LEGO treatment. In case anyone wasn’t sure if that was going to be any fun at all, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens released a trailer and demo to do some convincing.
Sony released the trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens during E3 2016 and it was the perfect example of how anything LEGO is absolutely the cutest! The trailer takes us through many of the well-known scenes in the movie and more, injecting the trademark humor that accompanies the LEGO style to make an already-beloved film even more endearing.
The trailer was followed by the release of a demo that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners can download for free. PS4 owners got early access to the demo, where “The Nima Outpost” can be downloaded and explored to give players a feel of one of the most important areas in Jakku from the movie, but it is now also available on Xbox Live.
Aside from simply being able to explore the outpost, players also get to enjoy some new features with the demo, including the ability to fight stormtroopers from the First Order alongside Rey, Finn and BB-8 and explore downed Star Destroyers.
“The Nima Outpost” demo also highlights Rey, Finn and BB-8’s escape from their pursuers and will allow players to take control of the Millennium Falcon.
LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to come out on June 28. Those who have preordered the game were treated to a number bonuses depending on where they placed their order.
For instance, those who preordered from GameStop will get to enjoy an exclusive Jabba’s Palace Character Pack, as well as an actual playset in the form of a miniature version of Kylo Ren’s command shuttle. Those who preorder the deluxe version of the game will also get early access to the Empire Strikes Back character pack featuring Luke, Leia and Han Solo in Hoth gear, Boba Fett in white armor, Dengar, Bossk, Ugnaughts and Lobot.
