Lenovo launched the Moto Z Droid and the Moto Z Force Droid smartphones on June 9 and both the handsets share many common features. However, there are some vital differences between the two mobile phones.
Lenovo highlights that both Droid handsets are made from military aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel. The Moto Z as well as the Moto Z Force sport a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED screen with a display resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels.
The latest Motorola devices run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4 GB of RAM. The handsets will be available in 32 GB or 64 GB internal storage options. Users can get more space of up to 2 TB with a microSD card.
As for the operating system, the Moto smartphones run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow straight out of the box. Both mobile phones will be available in three hues: Fine Gold, Black with Lunar Grey trim and Black with Rose Gold trim.
The below are some differences between the two Lenovo smartphones.
Screen
The Moto Z Force has scratch- and crack-resistant ShatterShield screen, which is absent from the Moto Z.
"Shatter all expectations - again - with the sleek, all-metal design of Moto Z Force featuring the second generation of Moto ShatterShield technology, guaranteeing the display won't crack or shatter in case of a drop," says Motorola.
Form Factor
The Moto Z Force is 7 millimeters (0.27 inches) thick; however, the Moto Z is thinner with at 5.2 millimeters (0.20 inches). The Moto Z Force weighs 163 grams, or 5.7 ounces, which makes the smartphone heavier than the Moto Z, which weighs 136 grams, or 4.79 ounces.
Battery
A 3,500 mAh battery powers the Moto Z Force. On the other hand, a smaller 2,600 mAh battery fuels the Moto Z, which is the secret to its slim design.
Motorola's TurboPower charging is available on both phones. Moto Z customers can get 8 hours of juice with just 15 minutes of charge, while the same charge time gives about 15 hours of power to the Moto Z Force.
Camera
The Moto Z is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, but the Moto Z Force comes with a 21-megapixel primary snapper.
The camera of the Moto Z Force also has phase-detection auto focus and auto night mode, which are not available on the Moto Z.
Both phones have a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
Smartphone enthusiasts looking for a slimmer and lighter phone may opt for the Moto Z. However, customers who want more juice, a better camera and a shatterproof screen may pick the Moto Z instead.
