E3 2016: 5 Predictions About Sony's Presentation

June doesn't just mark summer, it also marks the biggest event in video gaming to happen in the year: E3.

That means that everyone in the video gaming industry will descend upon Los Angeles to deliver trailers, presentations, demos and news about games players can expect within the next year or so.

It's also when the big console companies make their biggest announcements, including Sony, a company that is certainly set to excite gamers this year.

So, what will Sony announce at its presentation? Here are the five best predictions of what the company might reveal.

The PlayStation Neo

Rumors about an updated version of the PlayStation 4 have surrounded Sony since the beginning of the year, and it's likely that the company will devote a good chunk of its presentation in finally presenting the PlayStation 4.5, now dubbed the Neo, to the public. Gamers should finally get confirmation of the hardware's specs, as well as an official release date and price.

The Last Guardian

It's been nearly a decade since Team Ico first announced that it had plans to work on this title, but last year, Sony finally confirmed the game's existence for the PlayStation 4. Expect to see some actual gameplay footage, and maybe even a demo, at this year's E3 presentation, as well as hear an announcement about an official release date.

Hideo Kojima

Former Konami vice president Hideo Kojima partnered with Sony on a video game, and it's likely he'll take to the stage to introduce that project to E3 audiences or at least tease something about it. The project remains a mystery, but this is the perfect opportunity for Sony and Kojima to finally unveil it.

PlayStation VR

Sony hasn't kept too quiet about PlayStation VR, which officially launches this fall. It's likely the company will show off some of its VR titles, as well as demo gameplay from one of its upcoming VR games.

Red Dead Redemption 2

This is probably more wishful thinking than reality, but Sony has always maintained a good relationship with Red Dead Redemption developer Rockstar Games. If there's a good time to reveal Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PlayStation 4, this is it. It probably won't consist of much more than a trailer and a 2017 release date, but something is always better than nothing.

Sony's E3 presentation is on June 13 at 6 p.m. PDT/9 p.m. EDT.
