Father's Day is just around the corner, and as is the case every year, looking for the perfect gift could be a problem.
For tech-savvy dads, there are many good deals that can be taken advantage of. One such deal is Best Buy's offer of a $100 discount on the Huawei Watch.
The Huawei Watch is being sold on Best Buy's online store for only $249.99, as compared with its regular retail price of $349.99. That works to about a 29 percent discount, which is a significant one considering what the smartwatch is capable of.
The Android Wear-powered Huawei Watch, which comes in black leather and stainless steel variants, features a 1.4-inch circular AMOLED display with 400 x 400 resolution. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with a quad-core 1.2 GHz CPU, 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage.
The smartwatch will alert users on any incoming phone calls, text messages, e-mails or app notifications. The smartwatch also has fitness tracker properties, including being able to track data such as traveled distance, burned calories and heart rate.
The smartwatch can also connect with both iOS and Android smartphones. For those with paired Android devices, the Huawei Watch can also tap into the OK Google platform, allowing users to issue voice commands on certain functions.
The Huawei Watch also has an IP67 certification, which means that it can be submerged in water as deep as 3.28 feet for 30 minutes without suffering any damage.
Purchasing the item through Best Buy entitles the customer to free shipping, along with free setup by a Geek Squad agent.
The Huawei Watch was the subject of a round of discounts from online retailers early last month, with price cuts of $100 to $150. Best Buy was among the companies offering the smartwatch at lower prices, in addition to Amazon and Newegg.
