Fans of the X-Men franchise will be pleased to learn that LG is poised to launch several smartphones that are based on the popular film series.
Thanks to LG — which has an X-series of smartphones — Marvel superheroes such as Mystique, Professor X, Cyclops and more will be taking over the South Korean company's handsets.
LG is likely capitalizing on the frenzy surrounding X-Men: Apocalypse, which hit theaters in May. The themed smartphones from LG are a perfect way for the company to promote its X-series as well.
Movie-themed smartphones are not new and we reported recently that Samsung teased a Batman-themed Galaxy S7 edge. In the past Samsung has also released an Iron Man-themed Galaxy S6 edge.
The news of the OEM pushing out X-Men-themed smartphones comes courtesy of LG Electronics Germany, which spilled the beans on its Facebook page via promotional posters, giving a peek into what the company has in store.
Curious which LG smartphones from the X-series are in for an X-Men makeover? The new LG X Style and LG X Power will be getting the Mystique and Professor X themes, respectively. The former boasts "fabulously flawless looks" and the latter "long-lasting power."
The LG X Screen gets the Nightcrawler theme and the company raves about the phone's "agile and swift" aspect. The LG X Cam gets treated with Cyclops who is synonymous with "extraordinary vision."
These four LG smartphones are not the only ones getting a splash of Marvel love as the company will also be releasing two yet-to-be-announced devices with the X-Men theme. These are the LG X Mach and the LG X Max, which are based on the characters Quicksilver and Beast, respectively.
The X-Men-themed smartphones from LG are reportedly set to go on sale in the United States, Europe and Latin America in July this year. The exact release date and pricing of the smartphones are not known.
