'Jurassic World' director welcomes autumn by tweeting out an on-set surprise

Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow is getting a reputation for teasing fans with little glimpses of the fourth Jurassic Park movie via his Twitter account, and tweets like the one below are the reason why.

Trevorrow celebrated the first official day of fall by tweeting out the following picture:

Okay, big deal. He tweeted out a picture of a broken sign with some leaves on it. What is so cool about that? Look a little closer. Does the sign look familiar?

In true Trevorrow fashion, the sign is a throwback to the original Jurassic Park. As Wayne Knight's Denis Nedry character from the original film attempts to make off with the valuable dinosaur embryos, he encounters the broken sign on his way to the East Dock. Unsure of which direction to go without the sign's guidance, he drives on only to crash his jeep during a storm. Then he gets eaten by a Dilophosaurus.

Jurassic World does in fact take place on the same island as the original Jurassic Park (Isla Nublar) as another group has come in to make John Hammond's dream of a dinosaur theme-park a reality. Trevorrow's inclusion of the iconic sign is a fun little Easter egg for fans of the series, and there are sure to be plenty more where that came from.

After the recent death of actor Richard Attenborough (who played Hammond in the films) Trevorrow tweeted out a picture of the late actor's character immortalized in bronze. The first official poster for the film unveiled at Comic-Con this year is also filled to the brim with references to Jurassic Park.

Jurassic World is slated to hit theaters on June 12 of next year and will star Chris Pratt alongside Bryce Dallas Howard.
