SanDisk has a new high-speed dual USB flash drive in store, specifically designed for devices with USB Type-C ports.
The company unveiled its latest gadget at Computex 2016, proving that it's keeping up with the trends and ready to offer viable solutions.
An increasing number of smartphones and tablets are now boasting USB Type-C ports, because the standard allows for faster transfer speeds and is more convenient. Another bonus USB Type-C brings to the table is the fact that it's reversible, which means there's no wrong way to insert the cable into the port.
SanDisk's new dual-sided flash drive has a reversible USB Type-C connector along with a USB Type-A connector allowing for easy transfers between mobile devices and computers. The gadget can read speeds of up to 150 MB/s, so the transfer should complete in no time.
"High-speed USB 3.1 performance of up to 150MB/s means you spend less time waiting to transfer your photos, videos, songs, and other files between devices," says SanDisk.
The new SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Type-C Flash Drive comes in four different capacities: 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. The 16 GB model will cost $19.99, the 32 GB model will retail for $29.99, the 64 GB version will go up to $39.99, while the top variant with 128 GB will go up to $69.99. All versions can read speeds of up to 150 MB/s with the exception of the 16 GB configuration, which tops out at 130 MB/s.
The company also touts its neat SanDisk Memory Zone app for Android, which allows users to easily manage their stored files. With this app, users can view, access and back up files from the phone or tablet's storage to another location, or choose to have it automatically move files from the mobile device to the flash drive. SanDisk Memory Zone is available as a free download on Google Play.
The SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Type-C flash drive is already listed on Amazon and should be available for purchase soon enough. At the time of writing, the gadget appears as "out of stock."
