Microsoft recently rolled out Windows 10 Mobile build 14342.1004 for the slow ring.
Lucky users who get the respective build can experience the latest OS at its best, without bugs and issues. In comparison, the ones in the fast ring have quicker access to the mobile operating system, but it comes with added hassle in form of more technical issues and possible troubleshooting.
This week's Insider Preview build 14342.1004 brings a number of new features, including Swipe Navigation. Microsoft says that many testers requested that this capability be added to Microsoft Edge, and it is nice to see the company paying heed to its users. Swipe Navigation enables Windows 10 Mobile users to swipe to the previous page, no matter where they are on a webpage.
Another helpful addition can be enabled via Settings > System > Apps for websites, which allows you to open a site with an app instead of a web browser.
Those who want to contribute with suggestions and recommendations to Microsoft can now do it easier. Feedback Hub is a new feature that permits Windows insiders to leave targeted feedback. The Hub filters the title as well as the description of the feedback, so observations and improvement ideas can be put in the appropriate category. This speeds up the process of improving the OS for the technical teams, as well.
A large number of issues were fixed with this new build, which you can read about in the Microsoft blog at the sourcelink.
Insiders can simply get Windows 10 Mobile build 14342.1004 by heading to Settings, tapping the Update & Security menu and clicking Check for updates.
A Windows 10 Mobile build reached its users in January 2016, and details of its release first leaked on Reddit. According to a redditor familiar with Microsoft's plans, multiple improvements were packed in the build, with a special focus on general reliability, battery, performance and quick actions settings page.
Additionally, an Outlook Mail problem concerning the Polish keyboard was remedied and enhancements were implemented for Bluetooth turn-by-turn directions. Last, but not least, Iris Recognition's level of battery usage was optimized and Cortana integration with the MS Band got better.
Another important build landed on systems in April, and the update brought Emoji-Cortana integration, a neat stack of messaging features, interface revamping and USB Ethernet support for Continuum.
