Verizon is delivering an update that will improve the camera software on HTC 10 handsets. The update brings the 10's software build up to version 1.19.605.22.
The start of the over-the-air update delivery was tipped yesterday ahead of today's rollout.
HTC's Mo Versi, vice president of Product Management, only said that the update "includes camera improvements and additional fixes" when he tweeted the news yesterday. But with the update now live, consumers will find that the care package also includes improvements to Wi-Fi connectivity and miscellaneous bug fixes.
For HTC watchers, this update may look familiar. Earlier this month, HTC rolled out a similar, or probably the same, update for unlocked HTC 10 handsets.
The earlier update brought camera performance improvements and enhanced Wi-Fi stability, just as this current packet of patches appears to do. But instead of listing "bug fixes," the earlier update's notes say that it was also carrying system stability improvements - that's a tad more specific than "bug fixes."
"Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a software update for your device," Verizon says in the release notes. "This software update has been tested to help optimize device performance, resolve known issues and apply the latest security patches."
With those camera improvements in place, now's a good time to again try to earn a spot in HTC's monthly Instagram photo roundup compiled by HTC's Teresa Basich, content and editorial manager for HTC's Global Social Media team.
Basich reminds all HTC users to tag their Instagram photos with the hashtags #htc, #htcone, #htc10 and #htconem9 to get her attention and vie for a spot in the monthly roundup.
"#HTC is the best one to use, but feel free to add a hashtag to tell us what specific phone you're using. Do that and I'll be sure to find you," says Basich. Check out May's Instagram roundup here.
