Rumors of the Galaxy C5 smartphone have been doing the rounds for quite some time and now official renders of the handset have leaked online.
In mid-May the Galaxy C5 appeared on China's Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center, or TENAA, which approves devices for sale in China. The smartphone has also been spotted at the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) suggesting that Americans should soon see the mobile phone up for sale.
Speculations are rife that Samsung is preparing to unveil the Galaxy C5 at an event on May 26 in China and then confirm the device for other regions.
Just before the official launch, German publication WinFuture has leaked some renders of the Galaxy C5, which gives a glimpse of what the device may look like. The leaked images suggest that the mobile phone will have a full metal design.
The smartphone shown in golden color has a physical home button on the front. The handset has volume rocker buttons on one side and the power button on the other. The primary camera, located at the back of the device, seems to be slightly protruded. Overall, the Galaxy C5 appears to have a very sleek design.
Previous rumors hint that the Galaxy C5 might have a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 1080p display. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and 4 GB of RAM are expected to power the upcoming Galaxy offering.
The Galaxy C5 may have 32 GB internal storage, which may not be sufficient for many smartphone enthusiasts. However, the phone is said to come with a microSD card slot, which will offer expandable storage.
The Samsung smartphone is believed to be equipped with a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. A 2,600 mAh battery may fuel the Galaxy C5. The handset is estimated to come running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system.
The Galaxy C5 could be just 6.7 millimeters (0.26 inch) thick, which is even thinner than the company's flagship mobile phone Galaxy S7 that has a thickness of 7.9 millimeters (0.31 inch). The Galaxy C5 is also lightweight and weighs only 153 grams (5.39 ounces).
Samsung may also launch the Galaxy C7, along with the Galaxy C5 in China. The Galaxy C7 is said to have a slightly bigger screen and a faster processor than the Galaxy C5.
Rumors also suggest that the Galaxy C5 will have a price tag of 1,599 Yuan ($245), in China.
