Earlier in May, Electronic Arts narrowed the release window for highly anticipated sci-fi shooter Titanfall 2 to the third quarter of its fiscal year, which runs from October to December.
A Reddit user, however, has revealed new information regarding the title, pegging the release date of Titanfall 2 in October among other tidbits on the game.
According to Reddit user ilovegoogleglass, gamers will be given a new way to travel and battle in Titanfall 2 in the form of grappling hooks. Players can use the grappling hooks to get into their Titan, help in their free runs through the environment and launch tactical moves such as pulling down enemies while they are in the air.
In addition, and perhaps in connection with the extra mobility provided by grappling hooks, Titanfall 2 is said to have larger maps for multiplayer, which will be a welcome boost to the playability of the title.
The preorder bonus for Titanfall 2 is also said to be a handgun known as the Violator, which is a menacing name to say the least. However, no other information was revealed regarding the item.
The Reddit user also posted a piece of artwork that supposedly came from the game. The image does not prominently feature the grappling hook that was discussed, but taking a much closer look at the soldier nearest the Titan, there seems to be a grappling hook kept at his side.
As for the source of the information, ilovegoogleglass said that he could not reveal where he got the tidbits and the image from, only stating that his source "is in the know."
Electronic Arts is planning to show off more of Titanfall 2 during its EA Play session on June 12, which will happen away from E3. Gamers will hopefully then confirm if these leaked pieces of information are true, especially the grappling hooks, as Reddit users are seemingly excited for that piece of equipment.
