Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is a little over a month away, and Square Enix is making sure fan excitement is at the maximum by streaming the third part of the Star Log series, which airs today, May 24, at 4 p.m. PST/7 p.m. EST.
Much like the other episodes that came before it, the third episode of Star Log will include English trailers revealing new information about some of the characters, as well as key elements about the game.
This time around, Star Log will introduce Anne and Emerson — two characters that join Fidel Camuze's journey.
Anne and Emerson actually knew each other prior to joining up with Fidel and traveled with one another. As former travel companions, their battle styles complement each other quite well. Whereas Anne is a speedy fighter who uses martial arts to pummel enemies up close, Emmerson is a ranged fighter who uses a bowgun to bombard enemies from a distance.
Their personalities are quite complementary as well, with Anne being strict, calm and quite intelligent, while Emmerson is more up-front with people and likes to "pick up chicks."
In addition to these two characters, the Star Log will also provide more information about the Kingdom of Trei'kur, as well as show off a new gameplay trailer.
As mentioned before, Square Enix has had two Star Logs, with the first showing off Fidel Camuze, Miki Sauvester and a story trailer, while the second showed off Fiore, Victor and a Battle trailer. Now that SE is showing off Anne and Emerson, the last member of the party who needs an English spotlight trailer is Relia. Beyond that, Square Enix will likely fill in various holes such as trailers focusing on the villains and other assorted topics.
Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is due out on June 28 for PlayStation 4 and will come in a Day One Edition (which will presumably be downgraded once the initial stock runs out) and Collector's Edition. The CE will include:
- Collector's Edition steelbook case containing the game and The Sounds of Star Ocean CD sampler soundtrack featuring 16 tracks from famed composer Motoi Sakuraba.
- The Art of Star Ocean, an 80-page hardcover art book featuring art from the series.
- Eight exclusive art cards featuring illustrations from character designer "akiman."
- Pangalactic Federation ID card.
- Six background battle music themes from Valkyrie Profile, Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria and previous Star Ocean titles that fans can play during battle.
- Download code for in-game items that will aid Fidel and the crew on their journey: The Ring of the Valkyries, Gold Bunny Statue, Bushybrume Cincture, Wristlet of the Stars and Secret Sthalian Tome.
The Day One Edition only includes the in-game items and battle themes.
