Next Free Update For 'The Division' To Add New Incursion, Activities And Loot On May 24

The Division has had its fair share of ups and downs in the months following its release, as widespread bugs and other issues seem to have plagued the title. It now seems like those problems are finally a thing of the past, as Ubisoft looks ahead to The Division's next major update.

The update, referred to as the Conflict update, will be the second major update The Division has received since March. Leading the charge of new content in the update will be an additional incursion for players to tackle called Clear Sky. Incursions are The Division's end-game activities that reward players with some of the best gear available in the game. Players will be facing off against the Rikers for this particular incursion, as agents seek to regain control of an anti-air missile site.

A new incursion would be nothing without new gear for players to acquire, and the Conflict update looks like it will deliver in that department as well. Multiple new gears sets and high-end weapons are making their way into the game for players to earn.

In addition to a new incursion, another end-game activity will also be making its debut in the Conflict update called HVT (High Value Targets). Players can accept missions to take out these targets at their personal base of operations, but they'll need to meet the recommended item level requirements in order to do so. These HVT enemies will be powerful, and players will only have one chance to take them out. Doing so, however, should net some nice rewards.

Changes are coming to the Dark Zone PvP area as well. Players will now be able to cut loot-filled extraction ropes, going rogue in the process. Named enemies in the Dark Zone will also occasionally drop sealed caches that contain mystery items.

The Division's Conflict update is set to arrive on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on May 24. It will be the second, and according to Ubisoft, last major free update. You can read more about the upcoming changes on Ubisoft's official blog.
