Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows are back and in prison. Which means it's time for another Prison Break starring the original stars of the hit series, Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller.
As the first trailer for the reboot series has revealed, Michael Scofield escaped death but has landed incarcerated in Morocco. So it's up to big brother and some old familiar faces from the original team to bust him out.
Wentworth Miller returns to reprise his role as the tattooed genius and he's looking healthy and at the top of his game.
Miller's fans are the happiest to see the actor back on the small screen after a heartfelt Facebook post he wrote last March, disclosing his battle with depression, and eating disorder, and even suicidal thoughts.
The actor candidly shared that a meme which was originally posted by the website BroBible that has since been taken down, reignited the pains of his struggles by poking fun at his weight gain in the years since his semi-retirement from acting in 2010.
Miller revealed for the first time that he suffered from depression and although the meme did not affect him badly anymore, there was a time when the ridicule would have been devastating.
However, just as he shared in his post, he persevered and now he's back as the character that made him a household name.
The trailer opens with a young boy, the son of Scofield and his wife from the original series, Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies), asking about his real father.
She describes him as a storm that comes suddenly out of a clear blue sky, but disappears just as quickly. To which the boy replies, “The storms, they can come back, can't they?”
The trailer is interspersed with flashbacks of Scofield and his brother in the original series. A grainy photo of Scofield is what features heavily though, and this same photo is delivered to Burrows by none other than Theodore 'T-Bag' Bagwell (Robert Knepper).
Although Scofield scarified himself to break Sara out of prison, and was also suffering from a terminal illness, the last time he was seen on-screen, Burrows decides to head to Morocco to find out if the mysterious pinhole camera photograph indeed shows his brother alive, albeit not so well.
In Morocco, the brothers are united and Burrows vows to get Scofield out. A plan is hatched and, once again, Scofield enlists the help of other inmates for assistance in the break out.
The trailer ends with the brothers outside the prison and sharing a long embrace. But how long will this freedom last?
The new Prison Break event series will air debut mid-season on Fox as part of the 2016-2017 show line-up.
