T-Mobile may launch two budget smartphones on May 18: the LG K10 and the Samsung Galaxy J7.
T-Mobile has not announced these handsets, but TmoNews has received images of the internal documents of the two mobile phones from an anonymous source.
The Samsung Galaxy J7, which will be available on T-Mobile, is the 2015 model. The handset touts a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display. The phone has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, both with LED flash. An octa-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz and 2 GB of RAM powers the Galaxy S7.
The Samsung device has 16 GB of on-board storage, which may not be insufficient for users who store a lot of media files such as music and videos on their phone. However, the Galaxy J7 has a microSD card slot, which customers can use for expanding the memory to up to 128 GB.
The Galaxy J7 will come running on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system.
LG launched its K series of mobile phones at the 2016 CES, which included the LG K7 and the LG K10. Aimed at younger customers, the LG K10 sports a 5.3-inch HD display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels.
A quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor powers the handset. The LG K10 has 16 GB of internal storage and customers can expand it to up to 32 GB with a microSD card. The mobile phone is equipped with an 8-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. LG claims that the camera in the K series is the most advanced smartphone camera in the pocket-friendly handset category.
The handset has a 2,200 mAh battery, which will offer decent usage. The LG K10 comes running on Android 5.1 Lollipop but LG and T-Mobile may update the smartphone with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow before launch.
The LG K10 will be the third LG handset that T-Mobile will launch this year. The carrier has already launched the entry-level LG K7 and the flagship LG G5 in this year.
Rumors of T-Mobile launching LG K10 and Galaxy J7 are not new. Previous rumors suggested that T-Mobile is planning to launch a number of budget-friendly devices in May and July this year.
Details regarding the price of the upcoming phones are not known. Customers will have to wait until May 18 and see if T-Mobile will actually launch the K10 and the Galaxy J7.
