LG launched its K series of smartphones at CES 2016, and the first in the series are the K7 and K10. LG claims the handsets have the most advanced cameras in the midrange mobile phone category.
Smartphone enthusiasts witnessed a slew of smartphones in 2015, and it seems that more and more handsets will be released in 2016. LG has begun the year with the launch of its midrange handsets and they include impressive camera features.
Handset makers launch a phone with set specifications, but they may make slight specs changes depending on where a phone is sold. Similarly, there may be some minor hardware changes to the 3G and 4G LTE models of the phones.
Both the K7 and the K10 will be available in 3G and 4G LTE models. LG announced that the camera specs will differ depending on the model and the region where they are sold.
The K10 sports a 5.3-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. The 3G model of the phone will pack an 8MP rear-facing camera and, depending on the region, the handset will come with either an 8MP or 5MP front-facing camera.
The 4G LTE iteration of the LG K10 will tout a 13MP primary camera and will have either an 8MP or 5MP selfie camera depending on the region.
The K7 (as seen above) will have a smaller 5-inch screen with a display resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. Both the 3G and the 4G LTE versions of the phone will pack the same camera. However, depending on the market, the K7 will have either an 8MP or a 5MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.
"Consumers on the move tend to enjoy an active lifestyle, the K Series is designed for multimedia creation and consumption in mind. Its roomy display shows images and videos captured with the most advanced camera on a smartphone in this category," says LG.
Cameras have become an important factor in smartphones. Good camera capabilities can attract more customers. The front-facing camera has also gained a lot of importance as many people tend to take selfies with the camera and share with friends and family on social media.
Keeping the trend in mind, LG included a flash on the selfie camera on both the K7 and the K10. The flash will enable users to capture good-quality selfies even in dark conditions.
The K7 and the K10 are on display at the LG booth at CES 2016. The smartphone maker has not yet confirmed the price and availability of the handsets. LG says that the handsets will be affordably priced and market experts suggest the new LG devices may bear a price tag of about $200.
