AT&T Starts Selling Samsung Galaxy J3: Pricing And Options

The Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) is finally available for purchase directly from AT&T for $0 down with monthly installment plans.

AT&T announced back in April that it planned to add the new Galaxy J3 to its roster, but it's only now that the smartphone actually went on sale from the carrier.

The Galaxy J3 (2016) went on sale via AT&T on May 6, one day after rival Verizon started offering the same smartphone.

It's worth pointing out that AT&T is charging slightly more for the same handset, as the AT&T Galaxy J3 (2016) is $1.99 more expensive than Verizon's version at full retail price. More specifically, AT&T is offering the handset for $169.99 outright, while Verizon charges $168.

On the other hand, the Verizon Galaxy J3 (2016) is available with a prepaid plan for $109.99, while AT&T offers the device on monthly installment plans that users can combine with a service agreement.

Choosing this option from AT&T involves no upfront cost, followed by 30 installments of $5.67 per month. Alternately, interested customers can go for a plan with fewer monthly installments, paying either $7.09 per month for 24 months or $8.50 per month for 20 months.

As a reminder, the new Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) features a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with an HD resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels, a Samsung Exynos 3475 processor and 1.5 GB of RAM.

Other specifications include 16 GB of internal storage, microSD support for up to 128 GB of additional memory, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front shooter, a 2,600 mAh battery and 4G connectivity. In terms of software, the handset runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow straight out of the box.

In other words, the smartphone sports rather modest specifications by today's standards, but it should nonetheless deliver a decent performance for its price and category.

According to AT&T, the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) is smart, reliable and "packed with essentials" to ensure a quality experience.

If this phone sounds about right for your needs and budget, you can now purchase the 2016 Galaxy J3 from AT&T.
