Digital media powerhouse Ziff Davis has acquired TechBargains.com, a deal aggregation site for consumer electronic products.
New York-based Ziff Davis is the publishing arm of J2 Global Inc, which is an Internet services company based in Hollywood. TechBargains.com has been acquired from Emeryville-based Exponential Interactive Inc.
The terms of the deal and amount for which TechBargains.com was purchased by Ziff Davis has not been disclosed.
Vista Points Advisors, which is a San Francisco-based investment bank, acted as the "exclusive financial advisor to Exponential Interactive" per the press release.
Ziff Davis, Inc. specializes in "the technology, gaming and men's lifestyle categories" and TechBargains.com is the latest addition to the company's portfolio of digital media and publishing websites, which includes PCMag.com, IGN.com, AskMen.com, ExtremeTech.com, Geek.com, ComputerShopper.com, LogicBuy.com and Toolbox.com. Through these sites, the company reaches over 117 million unique visitors each month.
Additionally, the leading digital media company also operates NetShelter, which is the biggest community of technology publishers who are dedicated to computing, consumer electronics and mobile communications. Ziff Davis B2B is also a well-known provider of "online research to enterprise buyers and high-quality leads to IT vendors."
Shares of J2 Global were trading on Nasdaq at 46.68 during late afternoon on Friday.
