Apple Creates Website To Let You Make Your Own 'Shot On iPhone' Mother's Day Videos

Apple has a new marketing tactic to celebrate Mother's Day. The Cupertino-based company is now letting you make "Shot on iPhone" Mother's Day videos that you can share on Facebook via its dedicated website.

The site, named momsshotoniphone.com, allows consumers to make a customized video by uploading a photo of their mom.

The website opens with a link prompting customers to upload an image. This photo uploaded by users becomes the final one seen in the video.

The emergence of this new website comes hot on the heels of a 30-second iPhone ad released a few days ago with the title "Shot On iPhone - Mother's Day." This ad features a number of videos and images shot by iPhone users showing mothers with their children. In the background, K.S. Rhoads' "Because You Are Who You Are" is played.

It is worth mentioning that the rest of the personalized video generated by the site are the same as the ones contained in the Apple's ad, including the background music.

Consumers can only share the customized video over Facebook. This suggests that users' moms should have their Facebook accounts to check out the video dedicated to them. However, this can likewise be saved as an MP4 file by right clicking on it.

A report from MacRumors says that the site may have been built by Media Arts Lab, Apple's advertising partner, saying that a firm's employee first shared the new video creation tool via a Twitter post.

It is anticipated that quite a few of these customized videos will surface on the social networking site in the coming days.

The company kick-started its "Shot on iPhone" campaign in March last year in a bid to put emphasis on the iPhones' camera quality.

Apple has undoubtedly kept on beefing up the snappers of its smartphones. For instance, Apple's most recent premium phone, the iPhone 6s, is crammed with a 12-megapixel (f/2.2 lens) main shooter and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera as opposed to the 8-megapixel (f/2.2 lens) rear-facing snapper along with a 1.2-megapixel selfie shooter of the iPhone 6.
