This is what happens when 'The Sims 4' meets 'Downton Abbey'

First there was "Seinfeld." Then, there was "Friends." But the latest TV show to get "The Sims 4" treatment comes with a different accent.

The characters and massive estate of "Downton Abbey" have been recreated in "The Sims 4." This sure beats that dutch colonial you built all on your own, doesn't it?

"The Sims 4" player Ian Roach has moved the Crawleys, from Lord Grantham to Lady Mary to the Dowager, into the world of the PC game that was released earlier this month. The new game's "Create a Sim" function allows for even more specific and detailed design for the avatars than ever before. This has allowed Roach to make some Sims have the perfect amount of glamour and snootiness we know and love about the Crawleys.

Even more than the Sims themselves, Roach's construction and decoration of the "Downton Abbey" estate in "The Sims 4" is pretty impressive. The library and bedrooms capture the richness of the show's set design, with no modern-day water bottles to get in the way of setting the Edwardian era mood.

However, the replica isn't 100 percent accurate. The iconic exterior of the mansion is close but not quite right and the dining room is smaller and not as grand as it typically is on the show. Though this is understandable, even with improved construction tools in "The Sims 4," you still can't always make things turn out perfectly. However, why does it look like Roach set the house on a tropical island? This is an estate in the English countryside, dude. Get it together.

And remember, "Downton Abbey" is as much about the downstairs staff as it is about the upstairs aristocrats. The help also get some screen time in this recreation with Mr. Carson and Anna getting their very own Sims. Roach also replicated the servants' quarters, making them just as bleak and dingy as they appear to be on the show.

Roach has gotten some popularity around the Internet for recreating famous TV shows in "The Sims 4." He not only brought the iconic characters and sets of "Seinfeld" and "Friends" to the game but also recreated other beloved shows such as "Arrested Development," "Golden Girls" and "Sex and the City."

Having "Downton Abbey" be a part of your "Sims 4" game isn't quite as good as having the new season come early, but it'll keep us entertained for now.
