The upcoming handset from HTC is speculated to be an ultimate selfie phone, even though details of its photographic capacities are currently not available. The HTC Eye moniker suggests that the device will have features that are related to using one's eyes or those that deal with anything about views and sights.
Based on the leaked information, the HTC Eye will feature a full HD 1080p screen display of 5.2 inches. This means that it can achieve a dense pixel per inch ratio of 423 which can create a great display. It is also purported to be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset which means that it will run on a 2.5-GHz quadcore processor and a GPU of Adreno 330.
The HTC Eye is rumored to have a duo camera system of 13 megapixels, which is the usual preference of HTC on its premier devices. There's also a possibility that the device would be a Windows phone or that most of its other features would copy those of the HTC One M8.
Other leaks pointed out that the HTC Eye will be one of the featured phones of the U.S. carrier AT&T. The device, touted as the "ultimate selfie gadget," will be landing on U.S. shores toward the end of the fourth quarter.
HTC has not made any official announcement yet that would confirm the existence of the device. Perhaps the company plans to have all the revelations made at its upcoming press event that is scheduled on Oct. 8. There is a possibility that the event would finally end all the speculations on the device. On the other hand, it is also possible that the company would come up with a GoPro alternative.
A report suggests that the Taiwanese smartphone maker is about to launch a GoPro-like rugged water resistant camera and selfie-equipped smartphone. Details of the smartphone are not given. However, the GoPro-like camera is said to bear a tubed shape and will feature 16-megapixel ultrawide-angle lens. Its connectivity features would include the capacity to directly connect with devices that run on both Android and iOS operating systems. Other connectivity features would include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Lastly, HTC is also venturing on a wearable device, but may schedule the release only until next year.
It should be remembered that only recently, HTC announced the Desire 820 at the IFA event in Berlin. Billed as one of the most eligible selfie-centric smartphones available in the market to date, it's no wonder why the company is once again launching a follow-up selfie phone in a market where there seems to be a growing trend of selfie mania.
