It's been a rough few weeks for The Division, but it looks like developer Massive might have finally found its footing. After fixing numerous glitches and addressing cheating concerns, Massive is now outlining upcoming changes in the game's next update that will likely make more than a few players happy.
The biggest change coming in update 1.2 will be better and more frequent loot drops for players engaging in the Dark Zone, Incursions and challenge missions. In addition to better loot and more of it for players engaging in end-game activities, Massive is also adding a new bracket for the Dark Zone reserved for players with a gear score of 200. This bracket will feature more challenging enemies than previously seen in the Dark Zone, while also awarding some of the highest quality gear available. That should give top players of The Division more to do while they wait for the game's DLC content to arrive.
Update 1.2 will also address a number of in-game bugs and glitches that continue to annoy players. A bug that was causing missing updates for daily missions has now been fixed, but Massive says a more permanent solution will be coming in the update. The update will also fix an issue with area doors not opening after matchmaking and other issues players have recently had to endure.
All of this news comes via Massive's weekly "State of the Game" live stream, where members of the development team discuss what's coming next for The Division. As for when exactly the update will be rolling out to players, that's still not certain. Massive has only said the update will be coming "soon."
Massive's latest update for The Division will come after having to address rampant cheating on PC and glitch exploitation on all consoles. A glitch that allowed players to gain near-infinite damage with their weapons is also just one of many issues the development team has faced in the month and almost two months since the game launched.
