Yes, it's been months since Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out, and no, we'll never tire of anything related to the movie. Episode VIII is not due until 2017, after all, and we need everything we can get our hands on to tide us over!
Disney can't do anything about releasing Episode VIII sooner but it can make the wait more bearable by giving us a massive dose of cuteness in the form of a The Force Awakens recap, As Told by Emoji-style.
There's a special skill involved in using emojis, but anyone who has seen the movie will understand exactly what's happening. Emoji versions of The Force Awakens characters aside, the video is made infinitely cuter by the integration of smartphone interfaces and controls in retelling Episode VII.
There is no shortage of Star Wars-related anything over the years but there is a particular surge when The Force Awakens came out, probably brought about by the renewed interest in the franchise. Not that many ever forgot about it!
For instance, the previous Star Wars movies have been staples in DVD rental services like DVD.com. The original trilogy will always be considered classic, but it turns out a great number of people don't think the prequel trilogy is that bad. In fact, it actually represents some of the most rented original movies out there. Revenge of the Sith even beat out the original Star Wars movie for the distinction of the most rented movie in the franchise.
Hey, different strokes for different folks.
Filming for Episode VIII is underway and Princes William and Harry had the luckiest chance of all not only to spend time together (they are busy guys), but also to do so in Pinewood Studios where the movie is being shot. There, they met Chewbacca, BB-8, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley), and got to squeeze in a little lightsaber battle.
Directed by Rian Johnson, Episode VIII will see the return of Hamill, Boyega and Ridley. They will be joined by Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Anthony Daniels, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong'o, Oscar Isaac and Andy Serkis. The movie is set to be released on Dec. 15, 2017.
