The game has come across a number of hurdles since its announcement. The release date of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End has been pushed back several times. The street date of the game has already been broken before the game actually goes up for sale.

Some gamers received dispatch emails from Amazon and reports suggest that the retailer may have actually dispatched the physical copy of the game in the U.S. and in Germany. The in-hand copies of the game also appeared on eBay.

A gamer claimed to have purchased a physical copy of Uncharted 4 from a CEX store in the UK. However, a Sony spokesperson confirmed that the copy sold at CEX and on eBay were stolen in a violent attack on the lorry that was transporting the video game.

On April 27, Shuhei Yoshida - the president of SIE - also confirmed that copies of the highly-anticipated game were stolen in transit in the UK.

"We have some unfortunate news to report that a number of copies of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End were stolen while in transit. While we are continuing to work with the police to resolve the matter - which is the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation - it appears that a few copies of the game have surfaced in the UK," said Yoshida.

The unfolding story of Uncharted 4 is an integral part of the experience. Yoshida says that gamers should be prepared for spoilers that could be posted by people who have stolen copies of the game.
