A slew of Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) games has been released this year and many more are still eagerly awaited. Here are some PS4 titles that are expected to hit the shelves in May.
Doom
The upcoming first-person shooter video game has been developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks. Doom is a reboot of the Doom series and is the first major installment in the series after Doom 3, which was released in 2004. The video game is set to be released for PS4 and other platforms on May 13.
Battleborn
Battleborn is an online first-person shooter video game. The game has been developed by Gearbox Software, and 2K Games is the publisher.
The game is set in distant future, where all stars in the universe have gone dark at the hands of a mysterious enemy. The last surviving star called Solus is the only hope for the population of the universe. The mysterious enemy is threatening to finish Solus, and players fight to save the star.
The game will be released worldwide on May 3.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
The game is an upcoming action-adventure third-person shooter platform video game that has been delayed a number of times but is now scheduled for a May 10 release. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is the fourth and final installment in the Uncharted series featuring Nathan Drake.
The game is set a few years after the events of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. Drake is now a retired hunter but forced back in the world of thieves.
Drake and his older brother Sam, long believed to be dead, go on a journey in pursuit of a conspiracy behind a long lost pirate colony with pirate treasure.
Overwatch
Overwatch is a team-based shooter video game where players battle in the world of conflicts. The game has been developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment and is scheduled to be released on PS4 and other platforms on May 24.
The upcoming multiplayer first-person shooter features a number of heroes who have their own roles and abilities in the team. The maps of the game are inspired by real-world locations such as Japan, London and the ruins of Egypt.
Homefront: The Revolution
The upcoming open-world first-shooter video game is scheduled to be released on May 17 for PS4 and other platforms. Gamers must lead the Resistance movement in guerrilla warfare against a superior military force.
The game is developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver.
Valkyria Chronicles Remastered
Valkyria Chronicles is a tactical role-playing game developed and published by Sega for Sony PlayStation 3. A remastered version called Valkyria Chronicles Remastered for PS4 has already been released for PS4 in February this year and will hit the western market on May 17.
