Motorola's Moto 360 Sport smartwatch just got a great price cut stateside, available now for just $199.99.
The Moto 360 Sport is a fitness-oriented gadget designed to serve as a reliable workout buddy, tracking your running pace, distance, time, steps, calories burned and more. Simply put, it's the sporty version of the second-generation Moto 360, swapping style for workout props.
The smartwatch launched at a hefty $299 price point, but interested customers in the U.S. can now get the Moto 360 Sport at a considerably lower price from Best Buy and Amazon as well as Motorola itself.
Motorola is now selling the Moto 360 Sport in Flame Orange or White color options for just $199.99 as part of a limited-time deal set to expire on May 2. Amazon and Best Buy are offering the same price point for these two color options. The Black version of the smartwatch, meanwhile, costs $225 on Amazon, while Best Buy and Motorola continue to charge $299.99 for this model.
At a $299.99 price point, the Moto 360 Sport may not appeal to many prospective buyers. Aside from the hefty price, its design may have something to do with its limited success as well, as the Sport variant is not as sleek as the standard models.
Nevertheless, that sporty design may not count that much now that the gadget can be had for just $199.99. Just last week, Amazon discounted the Black Moto 360 Sport to $230, which was considered a very attractive deal. The new price is now even more affordable as long as you don't mind a White or Orange smartwatch adorning your wrist while working out.
Leaving the unattractive design aside, the Moto 360 Sport does offer some worthy specs and features, such as built-in GPS, water and dust resistance, a 300 mAh battery that will last for a whole day on a single charge, an optical heart rate monitor, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, altimeter and more.
The Moto 360 Sport also features an AnyLight Hybrid 1.37-inch display designed to automatically adjust its brightness based on the level of natural light it detects, thus improving visibility outdoors.
It's worth pointing out, however, that you won't be able to change the gadget's strap, so you'll be stuck with whichever band you get when purchasing the smartwatch.
Moto 360 Sport fans in India, meanwhile, will be able to purchase the smartwatch starting on Wednesday, Motorola India announced. No prices are official just yet, but we'll find out soon enough.
