Microsoft has a new buy-one-get-one (BOGO) deal in place, offering a free Lumia 950 when purchasing an unlocked Lumia 950 XL smartphone.
The Microsoft BOGO deal leaked just prior to launch, and it's now official. The company is offering a black Lumia 950 (unlocked) for free when buying an unlocked Lumia 950 in any color option (black or white). The offer stands for customers in the United States and Canada, allowing for great savings.
It's worth pointing out that the offer appears to be live on the Microsoft Store in Canada, yet the U.S. Microsoft Store currently shows only a $150 trade-in offer toward the purchase of a Lumia 950 or Lumia 950 XL.
Nevertheless, the fine print for the BOGO deal in Canada clearly states that it's live in the United States as well.
"Offer valid from April 25, 2016 to May 1, 2016. Offer is available while supplies last. Available in Microsoft retail and online store in the United States (including Puerto Rico) and Canada only. Offer valid with purchase of unlocked 950XL in either color," reads the fine print at the bottom of the Lumia 950 XL product page.
Microsoft further points out that this offer does not apply to other purchases or orders made prior to this date, and it cannot be combined with any other offers. At the same time, refunds will take the discount into account.
The fine print also points out that the price discount doesn't include taxes, shipping charges or other fees. Lastly, it's worth pointing out that this offer is limited to two per customer, so those planning to buy in bulk are out of luck.
For those unfamiliar with the smartphone, the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL rocks a large 5.7-inch QHD display with a 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor under the hood, and 3 GB of RAM.
Other specifications include 32 GB of built-in storage, expandable via microSD, a 20-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel selfie cam, and Windows 10 Mobile on board out of the box.
The Lumia 950 XL is available for $649 in the U.S. and CAD $849 in Canada. The Lumia 950 offered for free as part of this BOGO deal, meanwhile, normally costs $549 in the U.S. and CAD $749 in Canada. To further sweeten the deal, Microsoft is also throwing in a free one-year subscription for Office 365 Personal.
Keep in mind that the offer will expire later this week, on May 1, so interested customers might want to take advantage of this deal while it still lasts.
